Lunenburg
A short sail across the Gulf of Maine brings intrepid cruisers to Nova Scotia and the port town of Lunenburg, which has been designated as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. The town was founded in 1753 by British Protestants seeking a foothold in the new world. The UNESCO designation ensures protection for the town’s unique architecture as the best example of a planned 18th century British colonial settlement in North America. Here is a slide show of images of the town.
