Dave Cleaveland has photographed Maine from the air for more than a decade. The photographer lives in Wiscasset and owns Maine Imaging (maineimaging.com), which specializes in aerial images.
Some shots, such as the view of Portland Head Light and Mount Washington seen in this slide show, present unique challenges. Cleaveland captured it from a hovering helicopter, and utilized a long lens in order to “compress” the scene so that it would include the lighthouse, the city of Portland, some colorful fall foliage, and the 70-mile-distant Mount Washington.
