Dear friends,
This coming summer we are celebrating the 35th Anniversary of the launching of Maine Boats, Homes & Harbors magazine. What a long strange trip, it's been. We are planning to mark the anniversary with a low-key rendezvous and celebration in Rockland on Saturday, August 13. Come to Rockland by boat, or car, or walk or ride your bike, have fun in town during the day and party with us in the afternoon and evening. We'll party like it's 1987!
Stay tuned for more information about mooring and dockage options, scheduled events and dinner ticket pricing. It should be fun!
We had hoped to celebrate in connection with our annual boat and home show, which is usually held that same weekend. But we have decided to postpone the show until 2023. As you are probably aware, many people turned to boating in the past couple of years as a way to get outdoors in a safe and fun manner during the pandemic. Boat sales have boomed over the last two years. That’s great news for dealers and boatbuilders, but what it means for us is that there are not enough boats in inventory for us to put on the show that we love. A boat show without boats, is no boat show. Let us hope that by 2023, Covid will be a distant memory, supply chains will again flow smoothly and that the boat business will be better equipped to handle an ever-increasing demand. We have every intention of making the 2023 Maine Boat & Home Show better than ever.
But even if we can't have a show this summer, we can always have a party! So mark your calenders. We'll see you on Saturday, August 13th!
